Why Politics Annoys Me
When I get home from work I'm filling out a voter registration card so I can change my affiliation to Democrat. Don't get all excited, this isn't something I want to do. But the pragmatic part of my brain realizes that (a) Bush probably ain't the best man for the job, (b) Being the incumbent, Bush is a virtual lock for the Republican nomination, (c) we therefore need to find a good Democrat -- or at least a not-too-bad Democrat -- to run against Bush and win.
And since I'd like to have a say in the election I'm going to vote in the Democratic primary. I'll make sure I wash really well when I finish.

Secret ballots be damned
If you vote for Howard Dean, I kill you.
A friend of mine up here said he thought it'd be funny if Dean got elected, so the whole US could watch him make a mess of the country the way he's made a mess of VT. I mentioned that he would still be living under Dean, and he didn't think it was so funny anymore.
I mean, Christ, vote for Al Sharpton before you vote for Howard Dean. At least Congress would be smart enough to ignore Sharpton's stupid ideas.

I haven't really checked each candidate's site yet, but at the moment Dean strikes me as slightly more useless than the average Democrat.
Not sure who I'll vote for yet, really. But I have a few months before the primary to study up on these guys.
